Panda Software has a Antivirus for Exchange that works great as long as you
are securing the entire exchange server and not individual mailboxes .

Sybarite should read Sybari ... stupid spell checker &$#*&(%
:-)
There are several that work for Exchange 2003. McAfee, Symantec, Sybarite
and other vendors already offer Exchange 2003 compatible versions. A
search
on their sites will give you version numbers and pricing.

You might also try Trend Micro's ScanMail. We've been very pleased with it.

Personally, I prefer not to let AV anywhere near exchange servers..

I use messagelabs which checks all viruses in and out before relaying them
on.

Its external so any email borne viruses dont affect the performance of
exchange.

Except the one the users bring into the company from the {your choice
of infection vectors here}. Hibernating an infected laptop while at a
customer site and putting it on the company LAN is a darned good way
to bring memory-resident crap like SQL Slammer inside the security
perimeter. :P

Yep. That has happened already 3 times here in the last week or so
with sales people and returning employees from vacation. Rules or not,
people will hook up their laptops on a Saturday morning while you are
asleep and bam! Luckily we are patched inside and out :)

Stay away from Symantec, they will tell you that it runs but is not
supported, it is going to be a while before they have a version that is
supported. By that time we hopefully have our budget and be using TrendMicro
products.

Check GFI MailSecurity http://www.gfi.com.
great software, It can run as a gateway "and" using the AV API that
microsoft provides. I set up a SMTP gateway and run it there as well as
having it run on the exchange server. It uses three AV engines
simulatanously, one from Bitware, another from Kerpasky, one from Norman and
another from Mcgaffe (Mcgaffe is with a subscription). These all have a
virus signature autoupdate feature, the multiple AV engine stratiagy works
great.

Read about it. http://www.gfi.com

Best Regards
