Hello.

I am using Outlook 2003 with an exchange server (SBS2003) on an XP SP2 box.
Suddenly today I'm finding I can't delete or move some mail items from my
Inbox. Not all, just some. I get the message "message interface returns
unknown error". What would cause this to start happening and how do I get
it to stop? I checked the MS Knowledge base. I saw a couple of references
to the message but the situations were different. Any thoughts??

Thanks in advance...

Which ones did you try already?

Start with the eassiest ones;
-empty the Deleted Items folder
-rebuild the ost-file by rnaming the current to .old

Hi,

I've emptied the deleted items folder several times. I find that rebooting
helps. I can delete the mail items but other, newer mail items get the
problem. I do have one mail item that when I click on it I get a message
saying access denied and when I try to delete it I'm told it has already
been deleted or moved. I searched for the ost file but I don't seem to see
it. I've got my settings set so hidden files are shown. Where might this
file be??

Thanks...
